The other kind, the American kind, is okay. I wouldn't want to experiment with that, but believe one hundred percent that is true. We can experience absolute freedom in Christ even if held in a dungeon in a very dark country. The other is a civil freedom (I can't think if there is some proper term for it), one the government and our society and culture speak of, but tend to mess with a lot. The freedom we have in and through Christ is the one I most strongly acknowledge. What I consider a grevious error among many of my personal aquaintences is a confusion of two kinds of freedom. Is it possible to be one and yet let others alone to have thier own mind to work out the matters of faith in peace ? Or is it really what we fear that the reality of it is about control. Is there anything more Christian nationish then declaring your own independence and right to seek God as you wish without the help of a theocracy ? Why is it frowned upon by the IC community ? It seems very odd since it is the very roots of America to begin with. What is real independence ? What does it look like in the spiritual world. Is it because it is the deepest part or perceived part of our being ? Or maybe because it is so divided from our perceived natural ideas about life ? Why does this area create such insecurity ? It is extremely hard to navigate a decent discussion about it. Nothing seems to cause such contrast and offense as this area in regards to freedom. Also just the usual household maintenance and earning a living stuff. One of the being my lawn that is always in need of proper cutting. We all have varying degrees of responsibility and things that need out attention and to be controlled. Freedom for me is one of those imagery things that can be misunderstood easily. I wondered if this too could be a particular freedom. Hobby lobby, the state of the union, biblical ideas etc.īut for some reason this time it was enjoyable and not as heated. Since we have varying views about things of course current headlines occasionally broke out. It causes offense it seems when one is not on board with our idea of it.I find that very interesting. One of the most interesting conversations was that of freedom and it's perception. We talked on the deck late into the night. My brothers family came by for a visit and we ate like kings.shared a few drinks a spent far too much time in the sun and look very tanned and burnt. Well, it was a very busy and fun independence week here in the south land.
